Appraisal Nation Cancellation & Refund Policy

Once an order is placed and entered into our system, we immediately begin working on getting the order assigned to an appraiser. In the event that you wish to cancel an order, a written request must be submitted to status@appraisalnation.com. This request must come from the lending institution that placed the order. Unfortunately, it is our policy that Appraisal Nation can not cancel an order upon a borrower/homeowner request unless the borrower/homeowner placed the initial order with us.

Pre-Inspection cancellation of any order will result in a minimum $25 fee. Post-inspection cancellation will result in a minimum $150 fee. In the event a report has been completed at the time of cancellation, full fee may apply.

Full or partial refunds (minus any service fees as described above) may be possible for cancelled orders.

Most requests for cancellation sent within two hours of the order being placed will receive a full refund, minus applicable service charges, if;

  • The order is not yet assigned to an appraiser
  • The order is assigned to an appraiser, but the appraiser has not yet visited the property or began working on the report

In the event a cancellation request is received for an order that is already assigned to an appraiser, refunds work as follows:

  • If the appraiser has visited the property but not completed the report, a partial refund will be given minus the appraisers trip fee and any applicable service charge
    (If this is the case, we will first contact the client and verify the trip fee amount)
  • If the appraiser has visited the property and completed part or most of the report, we will contact the client to discuss a partial fee to be paid to the appraiser for any completed work

In the event an appraiser has already completed a report at the time of cancellation, the fee may not be refundable as the law requires that an appraiser is paid adequately for the work completed.

By placing an order and submitting credit card information, you are agreeing to our cancellation policy.

There are no refunds due to discrepancies in value. An appraisal is an appraiser’s opinion of value. All appraisers are licensed by the state in which the appraisal is performed. If you disagree with the value of an appraisal we will investigate the file, however no refund will be issued for discrepancies in value.
