APPRAISERS - HOW CAN I JOIN YOUR APPRAISAL PANEL?

In order to properly service our appraisers, our Appraisal Placement team consists of a small number of people, tasked to handle our growing list of appraisers. When you call most AMC’s you reach a call center. You never know who is going to pick up the phone. It’s not personal. It’s robotic. APPRAISERS - UNDUE INFLUENCE & COMPLIANCE HOTLINE
All companies in the lending industry, including but not limited to Appraisers, AMC’s and Lenders have ethical and legal obligations to support the intent and mission of USPAP.
The USPAP guidelines state; “an appraiser must not accept an assignment that includes the reporting of predetermined opinions or conclusions”. The Scope of Work rule states; “an appraiser must not allow the intended use of an assignment or a client’s objectives to cause the assignment results to be biased.” This means an appraiser must be able to produce a credible appraisal based on their own information and research without any outside influence.
There has been a significant discussion in the appraisal industry concerning the topic of lender pressure for value and/or appraiser independence. At Appraisal Nation, we believe we have a personal obligation to address these concerns and have created a hotline specifically for this purpose.
